I am disappointed i though that someone would talk to
me as a first time user of this board...but it seems to be
a lot more reviews than replies...meaning that i might
never get to talk to anyone...so i will try to terminate
my space so someone else can come on board...BOB

from Lawrenceburg for many years hosted by jojo
and vooch...my opinion it was the best message board
but it just disappeared have the folks lost interest in
this one..there is a lot to be said if someone will say it...
any comments welcome...have a good one from the north...

Lawrence County Youth Football Whats Next?

How much money do yall need to make this year? First their is the $350 from sponsors, $60 to play football (which is ok) then you want us to sell raffel tickets(which is ok too) then when we show up for the game we have to pay to watch our kids, i know $3 is not much , but how much money do yall want from us. Whats next, yall going to charge for parking? ive talked to a few parents and they thought it was rediculus too, you even charge the coaches, whats up with that? There are out there (on there own time) coaching the kids yall bring together to play football.

Maybe the school system should charge yall to use their field,and coaches as well.

Obama and the liberal Democrats have begun trying to convince the country that passing Obamacare is somehow a "moral obligation." They're trying to say it's biblical to do this.
I want everyone to remember that the Bible does not support the plan that Obama is pushing, which does, without question, allow for abortion. Also, same-sex couples will have access to this care, and God doesn't support gay marriage either.
Before you let the silver-tongued devil known as Obama lead you into believing you're following God's commandment by supporting his version of healthcare reform, pray and study the Scripture first. You don't want to make this mistake.

Lawrenceburg vs Columbia random thoughts

At times tonight the Cats gave the fans a little excitement and If they had played the whole game with the enthusiasm shown the last 5 minutes it would have been a blowout for Lawrence county. # 81 for LCHS had a great TD catch in the first half but could not connect on several other passes after that( If you can touch them you should catch them! ) I do not know who the kicking coach is but he needs to get in gear ! Defense got some great turnovers tonight but at times Columbia WRs seemed totally uncovered. The Garland kid made a great catch with 40 seconds left and very nearly got his feet going for what would have been a late TD.

LCHS had the better band and the 25yard pass and catch by the two girl students at halftime was cool ( they won $50.00 in food from Wendy's).

LCHS needs a 10 yard play....

The Cats booster club should be ashamed of the concession stand ! I know at one time I saw 50 people in line and 2 people trying to serve them... It never ceases to amaze me how many folks cant run a simple concession stand... The restrooms were pitiful and just plain nasty.

Six bucks is too much to charge in this economy...

Obama files papers to end traditional marriage

A conservative black pastor in Washington, DC, is expressing outrage over President Obama's decision to file a legal brief in support of repealing the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

A new brief filed yesterday by Justice Department lawyer Scott Simpson declares that the Obama administration "does not support DOMA as a matter of policy," and "believes that the Act is discriminatory and should be repealed by Congress." In a written statement, President Obama states that he has "long held that DOMA prevents LGBT couples from being granted equal rights and benefits." (See earlier story) In fact, as a U.S. senator representing Illinois, Obama stated his support for "the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act."

Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, says the Obama administration's brief is "an assault on biblical, God-ordained marriage."

"Evidently the president signaled to us during the Stonewall celebration, when he had all of the gay activists into the White House and made presentations of what he would do for them, that he values this constituency and he is responding to their urging to accelerate the process of redefining marriage," he points out. "So, I think it is very hypocritical on his part. I'm very outraged."

Jackson is joined in indignation by Brian Raum of the Alliance Defense Fund, who is disappointed the Justice Department is challenging the law which was passed in 1996.

"It's really troubling that the federal government has taken a position that federal policy is bad policy," says the attorney. "Federal DOMA was passed overwhelmingly and represents the prevailing view of the people of the United States that marriage is between a man and a woman and that's the optimal environment for raising kids," Raum contends. According to Raum, DOMA also provides protection for states. "Well, federal DOMA makes it clear that states have the right to regulate marriage within their borders and that they cannot be forced to recognize same-sex 'marriages' from some other states," Raum explains. "If federal DOMA were to be struck down, that whole area of the law would be in jeopardy."

Jackson says as African-Americans, President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder both should know that same-sex marriage is not a civil rights issue, and that opposition to same-sex marriage is not the moral equivalent of racism.

States would be 'sitting ducks'
At the same time the administration has filed papers challenging DOMA, attorneys with the Justice Department are seeking to dismiss a suit brought by a homosexual California couple who seek the same objective. Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, believes the DOJ may be playing political games in arguing against that case.

The government said in its legal brief to the court on Monday that the Justice Department will defend the 1996 DOMA but feels it is unconstitutionally discriminatory against homosexuals. Staver is eager to take a role alongside the Justice Department in defending DOMA because of what is at stake. (listen to audio)

"We're asking the court to allow us to intervene on behalf of the Campaign for California Families so that we can literally, aggressively defend this case -- not just be a figurehead, like we anticipate the Department of Justice may ultimately be in this case," says Staver.

DOMA declares that marriage is between one man and one woman. Another provision in the law provides that states are not forced to accept homosexual marriages performed in other states where it is legal. But what if DOMA were declared unconstitutional?

"Then the individual states are sort of sitting ducks," Staver explains. "What would happen is same-sex marriage would rush over the dam of the various borders of the states, so to speak, like a floodwater rushing over the top of a dam, and flood all the other states."

That is despite the fact that 30 states have constitutional amendments protecting traditional marriage. The full faith and credit clause of the U.S. constitution would override any state law to the contrary -- even if it is a voter-approved amendment to a state constitution.

Obama's opinion of our veterans

It has been announced that Obama and Congress won't be in the new healthcare plan. That's a shame, since Obamacare is supposed to be for everyone. Also remember, these are the same ones who are too good for social security, since they have their own savings and retirement plan that far outweighs social security.

Here's my question...if it's such a good health care plan, why aren't the senators, congressemen and BHO rushing to get on it?
